Haute Route describe the fact to move from one refuge (cabane) to an other. It means that every day you will discover a new landscape. From Chamonix to Zermatt many routes are possible but the easiest and the most popular start from the top Grand Montet and finish to Zermatt 6 days later. The best period to projet this trip is starting the middle of March until the end of April. You should have a small experience with ski touring before to be thinking of making this trip, at least one or two days.

Day 1: You'll ski and have the night surrounded with one of the most impressive mountain of the Alps: Aiguille Verte, Face Nord des Droites, Les Courtes, Le Triolet, Le Dolent, L'Aiguille d'Argentière, Le Chardonnet.

Day 2: The target of the day is to go with ski from Argentière to Champex where we'll stay in a hotel for one night. We'll climb at least 3 cols before that. The first one is Col du Chardonnet which is exactly between two famous mountain l'Aiguille d'Argentière and the Chardonnet. When you finish climbing this col the most important difference in height is already done, but the longest distance of the day is still waiting for you.

Day 3: From Champex, we take a taxi to reach Verbier and the Mont Fort with cable cab. After a short slope we'll fix the skin direction la Rosablanche throught the cal de Momin and then la cabane Prafleurie. Where we'll stay for the night.

Day 4: After the breakfast, we walk 200m to reach the col des Roux before to make a long traverse along the Lake of Dix almost 5 km long. At the Pas du Chat we fix skin again to walk direction Cabane des Dix. The guard of the cabane will provide you a special welcome... you'll see.

Day 5: More serious days is expected with Climbing the famous Pigne d'Arolla. The difficult section of the Serpentine will provide unforgettable emotions. Beautful ski allowed us to finally arrive to the cabane des Vignettes.

Day 6: The most longest distance of this trip almost 20 km with three cols. The first is Cols de l'Evèque, then Col du M. Brulé where we'll cross the border with Italy for few kilometer before to return in Switzerland. The last Col the Valpeline would be the last big effort of this tour. A long slope on the foot of the Dent d'Herens and Matterhorn (Cervin) on the right, Dent Blanche, Ober Gabelhorn Zinalrothorn and Weisshorn on your left. This slope will finish to Fury where we can enjoy to have a Rösti to finish this trip in a good mood.

Then we come back to Chamonix with taxi that take 3-4 hours.

This Haute Route is one of the Alps but many Haute Route are waiting for you! The number of possibility in this activity is almost infinite.
